According to the crate I believe it 624 rnds. I checked around and can't find anyone that has it for sale so I don't know what a fair price is. On Ammoseek the closest I found was a can of Korean for 90 cents per round. The crate itself is a collectable and I have found the bandoliers for $10 each.... Last time I saw this for sale was a few years ago and it was starting at $1 per. I don't expect that much, I think maybe $400 or best offer.

Not to detract from your ammo conversation. On Jul 13 (Sunday) we were in Tomball Tex. Went to eat at Goodman's. The food there is very good. Since you live fairly close to there i thought i might mention it to you'.

7.62 is not the normal cartridge for a M1, that would be 30.06. Is this the crate? That's 7.62 NATO made by a defunct Danish company.
What's it say on the cartridge headstamp?
Here's one at auction.

There were some M1s, late in production, that were produced in/converted to 7.62 NATO, specifically the MOD1 for the US Navy. If this ammo is in actual M1 Enbloc clips it was probably made for such a conversion. You can currently get a M1 in 7.62 from the CMP or buy a 7.62 M1 barrel.
If there's someone with an M1 and a 7.62 shooter you might get a buyer who wants the clips and ammo. Otherwise you might want to list it as 7.62 NATO in Enbloc clips. Since I currently only have the M1 it's a little much for clips and bandoliers.
