I was in Texarkan last night on business and crossed the stateline to eat dinner. When I got back to the hotel room I read AR's laws. There is no carry in any place that serves alcohol period.
At least that is the way I read the law.

Nope, that's out of date. Arkansas used to be that way, but now you're only restricted from "Any part of section of an establishment in which alcohol is consumed on the premises,
except a restaurant."

Depending on where you ate, you could have still been in violation. AR law defines restaurant as a place that is capable of serving/seating at least 50 people.
On our trip to AR back in August, I ate at a wonderful, but small, Italian restaurant where I had to ask about their seating capacity. It was 56, so I was legal to carry.
