Seems like a stretch to me but a Federal Judge has stopped the parking lot CHL law in Oklahoma.

I didn't follow how OSHA is concerned with parking lots.

How do you think this could affect Texas in 2009?

I hope the ruling is overturned by then. In that case, a precedent would be set.

I haven't read the ruling. It doesn't seem to be on the web yet.

I expect this ruling to be appealed.

I refuse to believe the people supporting this judge's decision are really that stupid. The judge here must be few fries short of a happy meal or crooked and paid for. OSHA is not concerned with firearms in a parking lot. In fact I would be surprised if they mentioned firearms at all. So the VAST majority of the state legislature can pass a law and one half witted judge with an agenda can void it. I don't think this will stand up to an appeal.

I hope you are right on the apeal but Fed Judges have been legislating from the bench for a long time now. May not stop any time soon.

Note also that since the ruling was issued by a District Court Judge, the judge's ruling only applies to his jurisdiction. Other states and their laws are not affected.

The judge is a whack job. I would guess he is a Clinton appointee. (Does anyone know?) Another reminder of what will happen if we commit political suicide by supporting a 3rd party candidate or actually voting for Hillary.

I expect this ruling to be thrown out on appeal. But let's hope it gets to court before Hillary has the chance to appoint many judges who believe in "the living, breathing Constitution".
