I'll be taking a business trip to Orlando next week and was wondering if there is anything in the Florida CHL laws that I should be especially aware of.

I have looked at their statutes and they seem pretty straight forward. However, I did notice that it says that I cannot carry in places licensed to serve alcohol for on site consuption enen if that is not their primary business. Did I understand that correctly?

Also, I will be driving, so I dont have to worry about flying with my pistol.

My understanding is you can carry in a Florida restaurant that serves alchol, but not in the bar area if they have one specifically set up.

Others may have more info.

Correct, you can carry if they serve, just not in the bar area. The other cool thing about florida is that you can carry a lot more than a pistol. Their laws are for a Concealed Weapon or Firearm, so you can carry a switchblade, blackjack, brass knuckles... lots of neat stuff, not that any of it is practical, but switchblades are fun.
