AARRRRGGGG!!!
Took my CHL course on 1SEP. Fedex'd paperwork in on 3rd, got my pin etc. and the clock finally started on 13SEP. On 15OCT I found out I needed a new fingerprint card. On the 16th I had a new card made (Use the FAST system! It's GREAT!) and FEDEX'd it back to the state.
I called yesterday (25OCT) and they told me my clock restarted on 22OCT. Merry Chirstmas...I HOPE.
Waiting for the water to boil.

Welcome to the forum!
Hang in there. The wait will be over soon.
There's some good reading here, so you'll have plenty to do.
What aircraft do you pilot?

Hey Hi Power,
Yep, I've enjoyed reading this forum. Lots of great information, and a good way to pass the time. Right now I'm flying 757's, although I occasionally get in a 767. My background is Navy, F-14's and F-4's.
Guess I'm itching to strap the firepower back on.

You guys and your itchie trigger fingers...
Fly Southwest in and out of Houston and you can pretend.
Just kidding of course.
Looks like I may have to wait a bit due to an internal error. My "passport card" as they call it wasn't signed by their exec. admin and they threw it back at me as though I hadn't signed it. So turn around is delayed a few weeks. Are the folks at DPS ex-military???

Same thing happened to me, mailed original packet to DPS on Aug 27, new print cards to DPS Oct 3. Tapping fingers daily.

I had to do prints the 2nd time on my renewal last Aug. Sure glad I started early.
The water will boil.
Keep reading & practice at the range.
Carry at home to get used to it.
You will be ready when the plastic arrives.
SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!! >> ACTION COMPLETED << M

WOW!
Well I guess Christmas comes early for me this year. I got home from a trip out of the country and checked just to see if the water was boiling yet...not really expecting a change. But lo and behold...it HAD!!! I guess the new fingerprint card DID NOT restart the clock after all! I'm not sure when it happened, sometime over the last few days I guess, so the State has been very true to their 60 day claim.
Maybe my plastic will be in the mail today. My Wally-walk will have to wait though...I've got to fly this afternoon and I don't want to have to rush it. Also, I don't want to do like a pilot buddy of mine - in all of the excitement after a Florida hurricane, he accidently put his handgun into his suitcase before a trip. He didn't even think about it until he saw the looks on the TSA's faces at the airport. They might have let him take it back to his car, but it was all on film...so he got nailed. Cost him $3000 for the boo-boo. But he'll NEVER do that again!
Anyway, I'm a happy camper now, and thought I'd give some of you other guys some small glimmer of hope.
Highest regards,
Tom

When I got my wife and I got our license the first time 4 years ago I had to resubmit fingerprints. Then I had to send them my form something dash something to prove I was a US citizen born overseas. I still got my license before my wife, who had nothing returned but was born in College Station

.
Go figure. Maybe it stayed on the top of the stack.
