I've just got to share this...

A buddy of mine was quizzing me about getting his CHL and he actually asked...

"Is it legal for me to carry concealed if I have my stash (of pot) on me?"

I just sat there kind of stunned and blinked at him a few times. Eventually I told him he probably wanted to ask that question again when he wasn't toked up and see if he could spot the apparent flaw in his question.

Honestly, I knew the guy still did that stuff, but man... Glad I outgrew that stuff years ago. Apparently it does fry your brain.

That did get me to thinking though. What would the situation be in that circumstance? Obviously it would depend on the amount he had on him.

ok, maybe i just dont want to go there. yeah... nevermind, lets just not go there.

Well, sure you can if you want to add a weapons charge to the possession of illegal drugs charge...

Should put him away for, what, 10 years in the state pokey???

Somebody I know wants to say something in this thread, but just cain't do it...What a chicken!

If I were you, I'd discourage him from applying for his CHL. He sounds like the type of guy who makes the rest of us look bad.

I know that if he applied for my class and I knew that about him, I'd respectfully decline.

Yep, I agree. : :

I would approach this like you would alcohol. If he is carrying his stash, leave the gun at the house. If he's toked, leave the gun at the house. If he's 100% sober, carry.

Well, if you want to get busted and look like a drug dealer then yea, I would definately carry drugs and a weapon on my person. Maybe carry a cell phone AND a pager or two as well.
