I am researching to buy a Bushy ORC with EOTEC 512 halo sites.
Anyone have one?

How does it compair to the M&P AR-15? $ for $?

I don't have the ORC, but I like my Bushmaster with a 512 just fine. I have not had any trouble with it at all. I like the way the rear flip up BUIS co-witnesses the 512 too.

I have a Bushmaster M4A3 and a 512 but after much consideration I decided to mount the 512 on a Sig 556 ORC.

Not to throw another option at you but for the price of the M&P, the SIG is piston operated and modeled after the other 550 series rifles which took the best of the Krinkov and improved upon it. It's a little front end heavy but that's the only problem I have with it.

What's your primary use for it? Just curious.

The Bushmaster ORC with the 512 is exactly what I bought about two months ago. I love the combination, but I cannot compare it to the M&P for you.

When you have older eyes like mine, iron sights are just extra weight and expense.

Where did you purchase the rifle and scope? Other than Academy for the rifle and basspro for the scope, a gun show seems to be the best place to buy???

I have seen the Bushmaster ORC for just over $800 lately at a few places online. One of them was $824 delivered. That's a pretty good deal IMO.

SIG has released a 556 that comes with a holosight attached. A little more expensive than the bushy though.

Cabelas for both. Cabelas had the rifle for $829 and the sight for $266. I had a $200 off on any purchase of > $500 promotional thing. That pretty much made it a deal nobody else could touch.

I also have a credit card from them that gives you 1% back for use at Cabelas. I put EVERYTHING on that: gas, food, rent, business travel expenses.
