Not really, I've gone to the range several times since I bought my Colt 1911 and to say it met my expectations would be an under statement. Prior to getting the Colt I always carried a Glock 17C. I always thought it shot well and I suppose that it still does however, when I went to the range today I realized that it wasn't as accurate as the Colt. Needless to say I have switched to carrying the Colt.

I'm very happy with my new pistol and at the same time sad that the love for my Glock has faded. I won't give her up; I'll just not be taking her to the range as often.

always nice when a firearm shows you how well you CAN shoot... i carry my g27... but if i want to make a rag out of a target, nothing like my series 70 to make 1 big hole..,.

Yup,

Shooting that Glock now..... will be kinda like "kissing your sister". Yuk!

I know the 1911's aren't for everyone, but everyone should give them an honest "try".

The only thing left is to give her a name.

If that 1911 is a burden, I don't mind taking it off your hands. ;-)

After being a recent 1911 owner, i've noticed that my 1911 will enhance and magnify my bad habits. Partially, I think it's the enhanced forces behind .45 vs. 9mm (what I normally shoot) and the different mechanics of the trigger and grip from what I normally shoot and carry.

It also makes me realize i need to practice more.

The trigger on my 1911 was light right out of the box and there was a natural point to the gun. I've made an early new years pledge to go to the range twice a month. I'm going on Thursday mornings to the DFW Gun Range as I have Thursdays and Fridays off work. It works out well as there are very few people shooting at that time.

Don't sweat it. Glocks are fine weapons and can truly be depended upon. I would not consider giving mine up.

On the other hand, 1911's are proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.

Well, I grew up really close to Arkansas, so shooting the Glock would not be bad to me!!

Seriously, for accuracy, 1911's are top notch. I still miss my old National Match Gold Cup (sold it 25 years ago to have moeny to get married on!)

Guess now that I am getting back into shooting, I am going to have to dig out the old Hi-Power and then start looking for additional target guns.

Congrats on moving to the dark side!!!
