I'm thinking of trying out a smartcarry-style holster for when I need to dress really nice (customer visits, etc) and would like some input.

Have any of you used a smartcarry with a midsize pistol like the S&W M&P? I'd prefer to carry that. If those of you with experience think it's too much, I also have a snubnose revolver I could carry, but I'd liek to get some input from those of you that have used one.

Edited to add: Of course I won't carry if a customer makes it clear they don't want guns, but I'm also not going to advertise the fact that I have one, either.

I understand from listening to "Guntalk" on XM radio that Smartcarry offers a 60 day return policy for those who are not satisfied. You might just buy one and try it out.....I've heard that the owner of SmartCarry carries a full size 1911 in his.

I've carried a Taurus 605, PT-99, 4" K Frame, full size 1911, and a Bersa Thunder .380 in one, and it will hide all of them. It will not hide a 6.5" barreled Blackhawk, but supposedly they now have a custom one available on request that will handle the S&W .500 Magnum snub. Comfort can be an issue with some, though; avoid guns that have pokey-bits along the backstrap if you'll be driving for hours.

If you decide to get one, get the largest size you'll need, and you can adjust it for all the smaller guns with safety pins.
