Interesting blog comment by the NY Times, via http://justoneminute.typepad.com/:
10:48 p.m. | Gun Laws Wow, if you ever needed evidence that the Democratic party has lost the national conversation over guns, this debate offers it on a silver platter. Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Edwards are both against a national registration and licensing plans for guns. “I believe in the Second Amendment, people have a right to bear arms, Mrs. Clinton says. Mr. Edwards agrees with a statement from Mr. Russert, that it’s fair to say you can’t win a national election by favoring gun control.

Now I don't believe a word of what Hillary and the Breck Girl say -- they are both bald-faced liars. I am sure that President Hillary would try to register and sieze your guns right after putting her federal gun to your head and making you sign up for her mandatory health insurance. Note the Breck Girl, while standing in Nevada for the debate, is now against the Yucca Flats nuclear waste depository, even tho he voted for it in the Senate. Note that Hillary is basically saying the next president will get attacked by al Quaeda because Bush has done such a bad job, when two years ago while running for Senate she basically accused Bush of making up the al Quaeda threat.

BUT - having said all that -- I find it hilarious that the the NY Times, even via a blog, has to report that the Democratic presidental candidates have to pretend to be all 2A righteous just to stay in the race. Sweet.

Seems rather obvious why they are against registration and other gun control efforts, because they are banking on the issue being taken care of before they get a chance to do something about it...

Thats why they don't talk about it all that much...They don't have to, their history proves their future intentions...

We know it, and they know we know it...They do not care...

Somewhat interesting link: http://www.2008electionprocon.org/gunco ... ations.htm.

The question "researched" was: Are more federal regulations on guns and ammunition needed? It's a very broad-swath overview, but it does a decent job of providing sort of a snapshot on a page for each candidate. (Becoming less useful each day as people drop out of the race, though.)
