Not trying to start anything, but asking $300 for this is a little to much? I was at Academy yesterday and was looking at the same exact shotgun, brand new, for $248. At the lowest I've seen at the DFW Gun Show is around $210+ brand new. Is there anything special that is added onto your Mossberg that makes it cost $300?

I'm very interested in the shotgun if the price is right...

Academy does NOT have the EXACT gun (a carbon fiber finished Mossberg 500) but they do sell a black finished one for $248 + tax (approx $268).

The only ones at the local guns shows were sold by Jeff Schramm and he sold his last two to me. They cost me $336.00. There are two of them for sale on GunBroker (query Mossberg carbon fiber) for:

$325 + $20 shipping (plus your FFL fee if any) and
$329.95 + actual shipping (plus your FFL fee if any)

As far as I know, the only difference is the carbon fiber finish so it just depends on what finish you want.

I am going to put this on the auction sometime this week but will sell for $280 FTF to someone with a TX CHL since I won't have to pay an FFL fee if sold on auction.

Ahhh Carbon Fiber. I misread the title, sorry about that. I'm in the Arlington area and a CHL holder. Might be interested in this deal. Gotta break open the piggy bank and see if I have enough funds for this.

I'll also throw in the box of target ammo (25 rounds) I bought and of course never used....it's really soft shooting AA #9 that I thought I'd start with since I have bad arthritis in my joints.

Comes with original box, both regular stock and pistol grip (with all the items such as bolt, washer, etc to install the pistol grip), several attachments that screw into the gun for a sling (no sling included), lock, manual, misc pamphlets.

If you don't mind going to GunBroker and doing the query on "Mossberg carbon fiber" you'll get the two ads I mentioned. One of them has a picture of the gun with the pistol grip attached and the other has several close up pictures of the gun with the regular stock attached.

Email sent to you. Need to know if you want pictures "unassembled" or assembled .....the only thing to assemble is the barrel which just screws on. Both guns already have the regular stock on them and the pistol grip is not installed. I'm only going to photo one gun but if you decide you want one you can look both of them over and choose which one you want. The other will go up for auction on GunBroker but I'll wait until you decide if you want one or not. I'm in no rush.

I have one question, is the barrel Magnum load rated? I checked Mossberg's site and could not find the info. I assume it is standard but I thought I would ask before I decided to PM.

Per the manual it's rated for 2 3/4" and 3" shells. I can't find anything that says "magnum". On the Mossberg forum someone said that 3" loads are magnum but I'm not sure they are correct because I've seen writeups on other shotguns that talk about "magnum" loads so I would think they are different than just being 3" (but then, I don't know). I'm new to shotguns and so all I can safely state is that the gun will take 2 3/4" and 3" shells.
