Instructors Application

I just received my Instructors Packet from DPS and have a question. On the Instructor Application (CR-90T-gray sheet) question #7 ask for the location of where you plan to instruct, along with the name of the range you will be using (including the DPS Range Certification number).
If you don't have a specific range at this time can I still submit my application or is it a requirement to have a range prior to Instructor training?
Thanks for your help on this.

I put my home range on the application, but I asked that question anyway. I didn't want a problem if I taught classes elsewhere. I was told to just put "undetermined" if you weren't going to use one or more specific ranges.
Chas.
BTW, I'm glad to see you're going to teach!

I did not have a range when I applied either. But, I went to the range that I shoot at most often and asked if I could put them down, and they didn't have a problem with that.
I have since used several ranges in the DFW area for CHL, and DPS has never had a problem with it.

When you send in a class notification to DPS that you will be holding a class, the location is required on that form.

Just wanted to say , hi
New to the site and have some questions.
I`ve had my CHL now for a couple of months and I`ve grown curious about becoming an Instructor.
What information do I need to have or review to become one.I`ve read all the information on the Tx website.Hopefully I will be able to do this the end of June.
So after I send my app. what else can I expect?
Any help would be great

Wait. And wait. And wait.

They'll eventually get you a packet with more instructions.
In first several years of the program, DPS held their "once-a-year-only" new instructor school in early August. I think last year it was in June, so it's good to go ahead and get your paperwork "in the system" now.
