A thank you & update.

Knee surgery, the 9th went very well. I made 4 very prosperous rehabs. Then due to general weakened cond. I caught the real flu & it went into Pneumonia in about 24hrs.
I have never been this sick in my whole life. This is only the 2nd time I have had more that a day or 2 of the East Texas drainage crud.
Late evening, Friday, God's grace has given me a good turn around. My family Dr was sick & not seeing anyone. They sent me to the Urgent care here that has some really good Drs. Diagnosis the real flu, (not East Texas crud flu) probably from my first hospital calls I was able to make on Tues. It went to Pnemonia.
They started me on vapor mist breathing treatments, Injection antibiotics, the Tamiflu, & convinced me to never, ever, never again, not take a flu shot.
I do see how many old people die of flu every yr. I could not breath & was so weak I could hardly set up to cough. No way to eat, just fluids was a major effort. Apart from the Drs & meds God has granted us in the US, there is no doubt I would have been a stat very soon.
From 7:00 Friday until now, Sat 10:00am, I have eaten 2 small soft meals, got up & walked about some, can breath w/o effort, & no wheezy, rumbly chest.
God is truely a great physician.
Barbara said Friday night that she was really worried about me for the 1st time since we have been married & that included through the cancer time.
Thank you for your prayers. I will be heard from a little more now.
Jerry

Glad to hear you're finally getting better LT.
Something like that... is a stark reminder of just how fragile we can be sometimes.
God Bless,
Flint.

Another thank you for calls & PMs. Several, SEVERAL of you missed me & PMed or called. The calls I was barely able to talk but were very apreciated.
The PMs were responded to as quickly as possible & I know very short but also very appreciated.
I love you all to life.

LT, you're one of my favorites around here, so get better soon. You're on my prayer list, already, and will continue until you tell us you're OK. Barbara will be added, also, as I know how hard it is for us, when our hubby is ill.
Blessings!!

LT, as I am recovering from surgery too, I can't imagine having to deal with the REAL flu and pneumonia on top of that.
I am so glad you are doing better and will keep praying for a speedy and full recovery.
Hang in there guy and God bless,

Looks like Old Man Murphy really has a problem with you.
You've been in my prayers every day regarding that knee, but will offer up more specific prayer for you. Keep us posted.

Alright now, 26 days out of the hospital & on a new knee. Flu & Pneumonia is gone & I can see the light at the end of my tunnel. I am able to grit my teeth & chuckle at the work of rehab. I am walking a mile now. The Dr says a full 90 days before I am released from rehab & then it will take the better part of a yr to get back to a normal & strong knee. I cant wait.
It does not hurt when I walk, & I can stand on my left leg & step in my pants. Haven't done that in 3 yrs. stairs now one foot over the other instead of leading w/ my right all the time.
Still down the stairs is a little of a problem but that is improving.
Thank you all for your prayers & calls. You have helped give me a speedy & relatively pain free recovery.
Stinkin Pnumonia was the worst thing.
Thank you all
LT

Thanks for the update Jerry, good to hear you are making progress.
Did you get the optional "grease fitting" on the new knee?
