John Cornyn is one of the five senators introducing the Semper Fi Act of 2008. I've already sent him a thank you note.

Heck I'd support it just on the grounds that it would eliminate some wastes of tax money - having a good reason to spank them is just a bonus.

I think that the Semper Fi Act didn't go nearly far enough. After recinding the $2 mil in earmarks, I would have inserted a provision to appropriate 100 times that much money to hire a fleet of bulldozers to encircle Berkely and simply plow the whole place under - after giving the local population 10 or 15 minutes warning of course.
