Makes for some good reading. Especially the briefs in support of DC's position. Incredibly lame for the most part. The one by the so-called "historians" is so far from historical fact as to be bizzare.

I just read that reply brief... and the first thing they do is argue that the amendment was talking about PEOPLE and not a milita. Then they go and do the rest of their argument, some good arguing on other points, but I think they shot themselves in the foot in the first paragraph.

Another problem... they argue that militas were meant to put down insurrection and not to support treason. What they failed to mention was that it was considered possible that the government itself could be the one causing the insurrection and that it would be needed to put down that - and that overthrowing the government in that case would not be treasonous.
Oh well. Just a couple of comments.
