Was heading to Sea World later this week. Is it posted? It technically meets the definition of an Amusement Park, but they are still required to post 30.06 to exclude CHL carry? I'd hate to get to the ticket window and have to go back to the car to disarm....

Anything I could conceal would just annoy Shamu.

Search this forum, I think someone had posted back in January that they saw a 30.06 sign on the fence at Seaworld. Also check
http://www.Texas3006.com. I think it's listed there.

The
http://www.texas3006.com listing for Sea World in San Antonio says it's posted along the fence.
Edit: Two seconds too late.

I was at Sea World today (3-19-08) and did not see a 30.06 sign anywhere, and I was looking pretty hard.
I did see a sign by a fence with general "rules" for the park which had a gunbuster sign and "no firearms and no weapons" verbiage but was not a 30.06 sign. This was on the far right (as you are looking at the entrance area) by a fence, so easy to miss. Didn't see any 30.06 sign by the entrance. What they do have is a sign that says "no weapons" as you walk in, and they look in your bags.
But again, no 30.06 sign.

This is all second-hand information, as I have not been to Sea World since I got my CHL, so take it for what it's worth.
I have always heard that there is no 30.06-compliant signs at the park. Just "No Weapons" signs like others have stated. But, you need to carry on your person, because they do search bags, fanny packs, etc. If they found your CCW, they could give verbal notice, which would be binding.
Have fun, be aware, and clean and lube you gun as soon as you can after you leave, especially if you get splashed by Shamu

.

Aha! Finally figured out how to post a photo. Here is the sign at Sea World. Obviously not 30.06 compliant.

Excellent work, BlinkingDog. Living in SA and having the year-round membership @ SW, this was very interesting to me (though I'm still waiting for my plastic).

I was also at SeaWorld this past week (3-19-08 and 3-20-08) and there were no 30.06 signs. They did search bags very briefly (my wife's G27 was not seen) and our persons were not searched. We carried happily all day long.

Just an update.
I was there on Aug 22, 2008, and the same sign as above was still there.
I carried my Ruger LCP all day. Here's how I carried that day.

- LCP beside holster (click for bigger)
NOTE: This may be a BAD IDEA. See more discussion below and links to further discussion in other threads. Apparently I didn't think my cunning plan all the way through.

These are quart-size bags.
I had no trouble with practice drawing, and it was easy to get my finger on the trigger.
I carried it the same way when canoeing at a state park earlier in the summer.
