Not very, I didn't see it!
I didn't see a guy on a moped one time. He hit on the passenger's side right where the door and fender meet. The moped spun around and nailed the rear quarter panel. The guy flew over the roof and landed on the road in the other lane. He was wearing a helment and was not hurt too much. The $100 moped did over $1K damage. I watch for mopeds now! :???:

I agree that it's a very good lesson. And it probably didn't deserve being placed in the off-topic folder, as it is relevent to our everyday lives, but that was my choice.

How many times has someone said 'to be the best witness I can be'?

This shows that while concentrating on the action, it is entirely possible to miss something outrageously obvious.

I saw a big object move into the frame, but didn't notices what he was or pay any attention to him.

This is a recreation of an exercise that was done in America several years ago (you may have seen it; they were in a building that was obviously marked up for renovation or demolition, in front of elevators. They used a gorilla instead of a bear.)

In both cases they relied on exclusion, and did it a bit dishonestly. Everyone excludes the costume because it's the same color as the other team's clothes. The "extra player" entering the frame from the side isn't obvious, because there is activity all the way to the edge of the frames.

Constrain the activity to the same area, take a much wider shot, and have the extra enter in a big yellow chicken costume. I doubt you'd get the same results. ;-)

Edit to add: when the bear enters from the right, the white team's action is on the left.

Funny you complain that he did $1000 damage to your car...and you could have ended his life due to your lack of paying attention, dead, gone, someones brother, father, son would have been dead due to your carelessness

I am a motorcyclist and I see people oblivious to the world driving huge vehicles while talking on their cell phones, messaging on their cell phone, reading, eating, dealing with unbuckled kids in the back, not paying attention.

I take it very personally when someone pulls out in front of a motorcyclist...in fact..here is MY story!
http://www.msgroup.org/forums/mtt/topic ... IC_ID=4330

Pay attention when you drive...you are the pilot of 2000-4000lbs of guided missile!
Would you want your pilot of the airplane you are on distract himself from his job?

Oh and by the way..I still have neck problems and my ankle will ache the rest of my life because of the incident above..thanks to an unobservant driver :mad5
