Has anybody had experience with a "dry fire training gun"?

I am a firm believer in using dry fire and training guns (i.e. blue gun) to improve skills. While cruising the web today I came accross a reference to a "dry fire training gun". I had never heard of one. Not sure it would be a good investment, considering the fact that I can dry fire most of my existing firearms, but then again I am always looking for anything that will help.

This is a better option IMHO - - - http://www.blade-tech.com/Training-Barrel-pr-1018.html you can use your gun and train without worry about an ND.

Yup, I've used the one that you link to. It's definitely a useful training aid, but I don't think it's something I'd buy just to replace some of the dry-fire that I do with my real guns.

To me this is the better way. So that you are using your carry gun and can learn it.

+1....it is near impossible to duplicate your trigger feel with anything other than your weapon. I thought I would get the same trigger with a conversion kit on my Glock and that could not be further from the truth.

Train with the setup you use....you are not going to hurt a gun by dry firing it and the training barrel takes the guess work out of it.
