Hello,
I am now in the waiting room as well.
I applied online on 3-14-08.
Packet was received on 3-18-08.
Took my class and qualified on 3-29-08.
Did prints and final paperwork on 3-31-08.
Mailed off just now 3-31-08.
I have a Glock 17 (2nd gen) that I love and cherish that will be my primary carry. I have been lurking around here for the past month and I know that a lot of people cant even bring themselves to say Glock

It will be in a galco summer comfort holster until I pick out a tuckable IWB. Any suggestions are welcome.
For hot days in the shorts I have a keltec 3AT. Just shot it for the first time today. Did not do to bad with a gun that tiny. 200 Rounds of winchester JHP not one fail to fire or feed.

Welcome aboard sir. Glad to have you. Good holster choice.
Tuckables
Comp-Tac C-TAC
Tucker Answer. These two are probably the most popular & carry the best reputation.

You, my friend, are a glutton for punishment (IMHO). My bride qualified with one of those little boogers -- excited her carpal tunnel syndrome, so she won't shoot it any more. Browning BDA-380 is her favorite carry, RIA 1911 is second choice.

I did not find it a bad gun to shoot, I did not have great grouping, but I had them all center mass at 3, 7 and 15 yards. I have the factory 1 shot mag/grip ext on mine. The extra finger worth of grip may be the dealbreaker. My first semi without a slide lock so i had to count my rounds, then verify by pulling the slide back before I reloaded. Perhaps when the Ruger LCP is in stock for purchase in my area I will try one out.
I will take a look at the c-tac and the tucker answer and see which one will work for me.

It just does my heart good to know there are other Glocks out there that are not just carried, but "loved and cherished"!!
My personal first Glock love and forevermore companion is a 19 with TruGlo sights. There are other Glocks in the family now, but she is still the best!
Welcome to the forum, and thanks for sharing the Glock love!

welcome to the forum! I'm not sure why some people don't like the Glocks. I don't own one since it doesn't fit my hand all that well, but there's a reason they have such a high market share with LE.

Called DPS today, spoke with the famous simone. Funny... she doesnt sound like the same simone I spoke with last time... anyway.... on to the data.
The website still shows "packet mailed to applicant"
I asked her I just wanted to check and see if they received it. She gave me the quick fire canned speech about processing times 4-6 weeks to be entered, etc. But then something happened..... she stopped and offered to look for my app. Gave her my ssn and sure enough they ->have<- received it and it was in "pre-screening" so we shall see how it goes from there. I have nothing that would cause a delay except for the usual fingerprint quality excuses.

Called dps yesterday... they changed the system where it does not force you to leave a voice mail, it now will give you the option to stay on the line. they said that they close at 5pm, I called at 4:45 and sat on the line until about 5:10 and someone answered, i was shocked that they stayed after to take the calls in the queue.
I mailed in my paperwork on april 1st, I applied online march 15th. It still shows packet mailed to applicant on the web site. Last time I called they said 4-8 weeks before it goes to processing, now its week 9. The guy was very polite and did not give me any canned speaches. He said they have my paperwork and that they have been processing and that he shows on his computer that they have had it since march 15th (the day i applied online) so it seems on their systems if you apply online, it shows that date, not the date they finnaly pull it out of the mail bag. He said that they are behind and that its taking about 120 days to process compleatly. so by his accounting, im on day 80. So it looks like i have about another month and a half or so to go. That gives me hope that they are turning things around there.... its down from the previous 180 days some people were being quoted.

If it shows the date that you apply online instead of the date they pull it from the bag then that puts me at 105 days. I refuse to accept that. Like adam Savage says "I reject your reality and substitute my own".

Application Completed - license issued or certificate active as of this morning..... I can breathe again!
I was told back on the 11th by DPS that my paperwork was all done, but it would take 2 to 3 weeks to get the liscense physicaly printed on the plastic. He said that its done by two different groups. He said one group prints the picture on the liscense.. then it goes to a compleatly different group to get the address and other information printed on it.
I applied online on 3-14-08.
Packet was received on 3-18-08.
Took my class and qualified on 3-29-08.
Did prints and final paperwork on 3-31-08.
Mailed off 3-31-08
Received 4-1-08
Was told several times they had it and were working on it but web site showed "packet mailed to applicant"
DPS Said background check is finished 7-11-08
Web site says Processing application 7-17-08
Web site says Application Completed - license issued or certificate active - 7-28-08
Total time by my caculations 120 exactly
