Copperas Cove Pistol Club had their monthly IDPA match this past weekend. It was a great match, 7 stages. If you're in Central Texas, I highly recommend looking them up.

Great job on the Texas Star!
Thanks for sharing.
What kind of equipment were you using (video and firearm)?

Thanks. I use a Sony HandyCam HDD (DCR-SR80). I put a wide angle lens on the front to help with the wide movement of the stages. The wide conversion lens is x0.6. I always mount it on the tripod, as I don't trust my friends to get it right, nor do I like the "bouncing" that you get in some videos.
As for the firearm, Glock 34 in SSP.

That was an awesome video. I am going to observe my first IDPA match this weekend at PSC in Friendswood. Looks like fun and very educational. Thanks for sharing.

what is this observe.......
If you are lacking any of the minimum equipment (gun, at least 3 magazines, eye and ear protection, holster and about 150 rounds of ammo) pm Charles or me or maybe some of the other regulars here (ElGato, SRVA, CompVest, Tracoun, Skippr, man am I gonna get razzed for all the people I haven't listed) and we'll scrounge up what you're lacking. If you prefer you could reply here and list what you have/can get before Saturday and people who plan on attending this weekend could volunteer to bring anything you would need.
IDPA is an action sport. All my kids say it's great to do but as boring as golf to watch. As long as you keep safety as goal 1 and don't worry about how your score stacks up against anyone else's, You WILL have a good time, I promise. So come

with us.

Oh man all this pressure. I have a gun, 2 mags, eye and ear protection, plenty of ammo but no holster. Still trying to decide which one to get. Do you use the same holster for IDPA as for carrying? Really guys, I haven't handled a pistol for some time and want to make sure I can compete safely. Besides, if I watch enough, I can give you old-tomers arun for you money, my first time out

Do you shoot a Glock? If so, I will bring an extra holster.....just in case you decide to do more than watch.

Well I have buckled to the pressure. I will be shooring a Sig P226 (but my carry will be M&P 40 compact). I am going to Prodefense this afternoon to get a holster for the Sig and the M&P). Anyone ever heard of Bianchi IWB holsters? I will also pick up a third mag. I have all the rest. How much time will the SO give you to complete each stage before they kick you off
Looking forward to it. Thanks to all the pressure cookers

Well I was able to get a holster (Uncle Mikes) for the Sig P226 but I can't find a third mag or mag holder. I will bring what I have tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks so much for the help. If its not meant to be tomorrow, there's always next month.
