A buddy of mine is moving to Kansas City, MO and I'm pulling a trailer for him.

We have to go through Kansas :banghead:

what are my options to stay armed AMAP (as much as possible).

I have a crew cab powerstroke so the cab is a no-go Im guessing? Put it locked in the tool box (unloaded?)?

Thanks,

-nick

You may also want to watch this thread on SigForum, Though I don't it's the whole story.

Also on HWY6 North headed to Waco watch out for Herne, Calvert, and Riesel.

It's definitely not the whole story. Someone's being fed a line of bull.

Problem solved. We're taking 75 -> 69 -> 44 turnpike.

So..I'll be carrying!

I have made this trip several times from Houston to KCMO and have gone through Kansas. Look at packing.org for latest info but an unloaded gun locked in a container either in the trunk or back of the SUV is what I have done in the past.

Yeah thats what I was planning on doing, but the route we are taking will keep us out of Kansas. Suits me...

Thanks for everyone's replies!

I'm back in Dallas for a few days (waiting for the TSRA show). The trip went well, stayed armed the entire time. Actually doubled up on carry guns...just because I could :)

Thanks for the advice, and man...is it good to be back in TX.

So how long did it take to get to KCMO taking this route?

From College Station, we went to Dallas via I-45. Stayed the night there, and then took 75 (which is really 45) all the way into OK where it becomes 69, to the I-44 turnpike, and then to hwy 71. From Dallas it took us about 7.5 hours, though w/o a radar detector it would be closer to 9 :lol:

It's worth slowing down to 55 to go through towns on 69 because you can at least carry when going this route.
