If you don't mind an outdoor range then go to Alpine. I prefer Winchester in Ft. Worth. It is an indoor range and on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 5 it is cheaper. About 15-20 minutes from UTA.

Both good places to shoot, and not too far from UTA. Winchester is also known as "The Shooting Gallery"

I agree. I definitely prefer Winchester, but for shotguns you must go to Alpine.

That's pretty much the only thing that I do at Alpine, but I do love their shotgun options. I spend a fair amount of time ($) out there shooting skeet and sporting clays.

I think that you can buy a yearly membership, but you don't have to. It is something like $12/shooter on weekdays, $15 on weekends, and $9.50 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings if you don't have a membership. That gets you a couple of targets and your own lane for as long as you want to shoot. I think that if you share a lane with your wife then the second person is like $6. I'd love to get the unlimited yearly membership, but can't afford enough ammunition to go often enough to justify the cost for the annual membership.

If you buy the annual membership then there is no additional fee when you go. I talked to the guy there and he said you need to go ever 2 weeks in order to break even on the yearly membership.

I might be interested in trying Winchester, esp. if I can shoot with my wife at a discount. Where is it?

Don't know anything about the ranges around here - have my own - but have fun at UTA. I'll be back there in August to finish up my degree.

I moved to Arlington about 3 years ago from Houston. Winchester Shooting Gallery is your best bet. I go there once in awhile with my uncles and we have a blast there.
