Maybe this is a sign of better things to come

Perhaps Austin has gotten the message and DPS has really taken action to cut through ghe backlog. If so, congrats to all on this forum who have assisted. 57 days from application receipt to completion is consistent with statute. Frankly, I can't remember another occassion when government delivered what they promised.

Mine should have been simple - not even a speeding ticket and a dozen or so fingerprint cards already on file with the bureau over the years. Have lived at my current address for the last 20 years. That may have been a factor. Nevertheless, Congrats and thanks to Simone and her group in Austin. At least in my case they met their obligation.
