I included this in the 'off-topic' section because I'm not sure where else it fit, but I feel the story deserves a place on this forum.

the Link is:

A summary of events based on the above video is as follows

-An army reservist named Olufson loaned an older AR-15 to a neighbor so the neighbor could go to the range
-While firing hundred of rounds, at two seperate time, the rifle fires a two round burst
-Police become interested and investigate the situation
-Police show up to search Olufson's house (and I get the impression that they didn't come in the friendly way either)
-Olufson is convicted of a felony: Transferring a Machine Gun. Yes, a Machine Gun.
-Olufson is currently awaiting sentencing, last I've heard his sentencing has been delayed, as per this video:
http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/bestof ... ideosearch
-the felony conviction got him kicked out of the reserves, and he faces years in prison
-The NRA is sitting out for now

I think it is important to us as Texas gun owners to take notice of this situation because it is playing out at the Federal level. I don't know a lot about how courts work, I try to avoid them, but couldn't the Feds attempt to do something similar in Texas?

I don't know what I can do to help a fellow Veteran, but sharing it with the good folks here can't hurt.
