I used the online system to apply for my CHL. You can use the system to check the status, but it has not been updated even though I hand delivered my paperwork over three weeks ago.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the status to be updated to show they received an application? Could this mean they haven't even pulled my app from their inbox? Also, What are the the other status steps that appear on the site during the application process?

Welcome to the forum.

People have been reporting up to two months just to get to "processing application." There are hundreds of messages about it on this forum.

If I recall correctly, you can have "processing application," "awaiting response from applicant" (if they have asked for more information, rejected fingerprints, etc.), and the coveted "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active."

Then, a few weeks after your license is mailed, it changes to something like "No application on file."

The web site is not automated and is not updated in a timely manner. Some people have received their plastic while the site still says "processing application."
