Question for those carrying Sigs, or any DA/SA w/o safety

I carry a P229 .40, but I'm wondering if any other Sig owners carry in the cocked position? I carry chambered and decocked, but just curious if anyone actually carries chambered and cocked on a semi without any external safties like grip or thumb safety.

If you do, have you noticed any problems, such as snagging on the cocked hammer, nearly shooting your foot off, or anything else?

When I carry my 229, I carry with the hammer down. I never touch the trigger unless I'm ready to shoot, but I think the Sigs are made to be carried hammer down, not cocked..... I could be wrong though!

:eek6 Carrying a DA/SA Sig cocked is just asking for a ND. If you think the grip safety on a 1911 makes it OK to carry "cocked and unlocked," think again.

The 1911 was not designed to be carried "cocked and unlocked" and the Sig was not either. Always decock your Sig after firing has ceased and before holstering.

I guess I should have clarified. I carry my 229 decocked, was just curious if anyone actually carried it cocked.

I carry a P229 .40 also and it is always decocked. I wish I could carry it cocked and locked because I shoot a heck of alot better SA than DA!:

I would never carry my P220 chambered & cocked. I have carried a 1911 and an HK in condition 1, but the Sig--condition 2 only. I already walk with a limp, don't need another.
