More Video HOUSTON—At 22, Ash Hussain experienced something on Friday that most men never will.
He shot someone to death.
“I got really scared, he said. “Wish it hadn’t happened, but it did, unfortunately.
Hussain was working at a Texaco on I-45 North and West Mt. Houston Road when two men confronted him just before noon.
One man had a gun, and the other had a knife.
Hussain had about $4,500 in cash and a gun of his own.

“First I thought it was a joke, he said.
But the suspects were serious. They took the money and ran to their car. Hussain followed him, armed with his gun. When one of the suspects pointed a weapon at Hussain, the clerk fired back.
The suspects then jumped out of the car and took off running. Hussain said he didn’t even realize he’d shot one of them.
Kevin Redden saw the commotion and decided to help.
He chased after the men, but fell and hurt his hand.
When he realized one of the suspects needed medical attention, he did what he could.
“He was conscious. I tried to work on him but he expired, Redden said. “I’m not here to judge somebody. God does.
