Still stating "Packet Mailed to Applicant"

I sent my app off to Austin on March 24 by certified mail. Checked I it shows it arrived at its destination a couple days later. Before the CHL class, I applied online so I had a packet with a PIN already by the time I went to class around mid March.
So now here we are on June 6th, and the status online when I log on with my Pin still says "Packet Mailed to Applicant". Packet means the partially filled application from the online registration that I took to the class to complete. Shouldn't my status at least says "Processing Application"? What gives?

I don't know if you folks read my post in another thread so I thought I would share some info I received yesterday on the phone from DPS. They told me that they are just now entering mid March applications into the system. Looking at your dates, I am betting your amongst them with me. I also asked them why some guys seem to be getting processed in 60 days while alot of us are in the 90-120 day range. They told me that these 60 day applications are very rare and few and far between. I didn't see the need to give the guy on the phone any more grief about it so I let it go, but I really don't get why i couldn't be one of the rare lucky ones

.

Every application that gets fast tracked slows down other people who got bumped because they don't have connections.

I don't know anyone in Austin but mine still got processed in just over 60 days.
They probably wanted to get my ugly mug off their desks ASAP.

It is pretty obvious that something is stinking up the CHL department of the DPS. They seem to like keeping us in the dark about the exact procedures used to process applications. In no way is it acceptable that individuals such as yourself are getting processed through to completion ahead of others who have no issues causing a delay and have been in line ahead of you. I still believe they are playing games down there with "average" wait times and you just happened to draw the lucky straw. Government entities love playing games with statistics to manipulate the masses. This is just another example of it....IMHO. I can think of no other reason for such a huge difference in processing times. I will mention that during my phone conversation with the DPS, it was insinuated by the rep on the phone that the only applications being processed within the allotted time frame of 60 days, were folks who had "help" from outside the agency. You say that is not the case for you, so maybe the representative was doing some speculating about it all himself.
By the way...this post is not meant as a slight against you in any way for getting your application processed in an efficient manner. Just like the rest of us, you have no control over what happens in the CHL department.
