Wal-Mart employee arrested in stabbing
PEARLAND, TX (KTRK) -- An employee at the Wal-Mart in Pearland was arrested after police say he stabbed a juvenile.
Officers tell us the employee, Ray Canales, 18, got into an argument with a juvenile. Apparently it was over the juvenile's girlfriend. Witnesses say the juvenile tried to punch Canales, but missed. That's when Canales allegedly pulled out a pocketknife, stabbing the juvenile several times.
The victim was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Canales was arrested at the scene.

Something about fighting over a girl at Walmart leads me to believe the combined IQ of all parties involved is rather low.

The collective IQ of a group of teenage boys can be calculated using the following formula:
IQ of the smartest boy / # of boys in the group*number of girls looking on
If the fight is over a girl (especially if she is present), then the number of girls is automatically doubled.

A minor correction to your formula in order to group the factors on the right into a single term:
IQ of the smartest boy / (# of boys in the group * number of girls looking on)

Different scenario: Suppose you had something a little similar -- first with a firearm (legal CHL) then with a knife (legal pocket knife):
You are male (it might matter) and attacked by larger/stronger/younger/etc attackers and defend yourself in what is quite likely to responding officers a justified use of force, and you yourself are absolutely certain that "deadly force" was justified and you are able to articulate the actions of the attackers which are not disputed. Everything else stays the same, except:
1) You defend yourself by shooting the attackers with the firearm
2) You defend by stabbing and cutting with the knife
It is my long time estimation that using the KNIFE may well be more of a problem as Juries and Grand Juries are predisposed to citizens defending themselves with a firearm but using a knife means you are in a "knife fight".
Think about it.
I carry pocket knives for both their general utility and usefulness in emergencies of all kinds including self-defense; especially when the law requires me to disarm.
