"Throwing in the towel" implies surrender. Paul acknowledged some time back that his presidential campaign was essentially over. Last night's speech (I watched it on justin.tv) was far from a "surrender". Instead of aiming at electing one man to one office, the Paul organization is now aiming for hundreds of people in hundreds of elected offices.

The new website went online yesterday, hoping for 100,000 members by September 2. In 24 hours, it's up to 33,000 sign-ups.

I think this is good news for the election, and I hope McCain taps him for a post in a better position then he is now. I hope he endorses McCain as well.

There is no love lost between them and Paul has indicated that he will not endorse McCain.

"rlol"

How much more "blackballed" could Ron Paul possibly get in today's GOP?

Does that mean he won't get the chairmanship of the ways and means committee? Gee, I bet that Ron Paul won't be able to get any pork sent our way either.

I find voting no on 99% of everything that comes your way slightly distracting.

Well, it appears he may lose his district. I hear Whataburger is hiring.

What is that supposed to mean?

Dr. Paul won the Republican primary and is running unopposed in the general election.

He is also an obstetrician with an active practice.

How do you like being represented by Nick Lampson? Is he still A rated by the NRA?

While those of us in his district apparently find it refreshing.

Can you point out those votes of his you felt were valid and those you were against? Say..just the last couple years or so. I'm not being snide, I'm just trying to sort out his unusual voting pattern.

When 99% of what passes through Congress is flagrantly unconstitutional, I find it highly refreshing.

He introduced a bill in that prohibits the use of federal funding for any part of the TTC and promises to continue to push for this bill, and other bills protecting property rights, taxpayers rights and our national sovereignty, and makes it real clear that government should not fund and enforce private efforts like this and thumb their nose at land owners and taxpayers.

Basically he is anti big government. Something that the Republicans once said they were, before they changed their minds and turned themselves into clones of LBJ.

Lots of votes for and against bills that are not related to anything constitutional. I think Liberty's statement was more factual.
