lunchbox,

I've got a cz-52 that I might be willing to trade for a rossi 38 (I can throw in a few of boxes of ammo, too). I live in the medical center/west university area.

However, while the gun is a *lot* of fun to shoot, I can't say I'd really recommend it for everyday concealed carry, for various reasons, including unreliable decockers, etc, but it would make a great gun for certain purposes, such as carrying while hiking or fishing.

Anyway, what model rossi do you have? Barrel size/+P rating?

Important Safety Note

The Vz-52 is over 50 years in age. It is not recommended for safety reasons de-cocking of the pistol's hammer be done while a cartridge is loaded in the chamber. There is a slight chance of primer ignition if trigger, safety, or hammer parts are worn or broken. In any case always treat the pistol as if it were loaded and make sure it is pointed in a safe direction before de-cocking the hammer.

lunchbox,

I will send you a PM with details in a bit, but Mike1951 was spot on. Also, keep in mind that this pistol is not double action. If you carry it chamber loaded and decocked, you have to manually cock it prior to firing it. The few times that I've "taken it with me," I carried without one in the chamber, FWIW.

Also, never dry fire with an OEM firing pin. 5 or 10 times will break it. Milled pins are available for 15 bucks around the net, rarther than forged.

lunchbox,
What's wrong with your Rossi? I always thought they were good guns.

I've got the same gun myself, and they are good guns. And they're advertised to shoot +P loads, which is all that I've flawlessly shot through mine...
