Self Resolving Home Invasion

Homeowners' potential tactical and legal issues during a home invasion are considerably simplified when the incident goes the way this one in Grand Prairie, TX, apparently did:

It also serves as a good reminder of the importance of Rule #3, particularly when one is also violating Rules 1, 2, and 4.

I guess I am confused...is this subforum not for these types of articles? I submitted on here, as it would fall under this category, only to have it locked because it had been discussed already in another thread...

I just want to make sure...

It isn't about being the right place or not. It's about having multiple threads dealing with the same topic. It's more efficient to only have one thread going about a single subject.

Agreed, but I wouldn't think to search in the other forums that don't fall under the "Never Again" category...I guess it's just that most threads go under the "General" category...

/still learning - new guy syndrome.

Might I suggest a "Current Events and Media Links" type of forum, specifically for these kinds of threads?

I'll second that; these home invasion threads aren't really CHL related, but they're definitely relevant to the self-defense mindset.

I agree that a new topic is warranted.

Although incidents in the home are not directly related to licensed carry elsewhere, I consider them relevant because virtually all those with CHL's keep their weapons with them at home, and those who are not LEO's or bail enforcement agents are statistically more likely to see a criminal confrontation in or about the home than anywhere else.

Protective strategies and defensive tactics for these situations are relevant to all members, and judging by the number of posts whenever one of these comes up, it looks like there's a lot of interest in them. It would make sense to put them all in one logical place to make them easy to find and eliminate the need for members to look in multiple "don't quite fit" places before posting to avoid duplicate threads.

How about a topic like: Home Protection and Defense?
