Certified copy of judgement? Newbie question.

I'm currently filling out the online application to begin my CHL certification. I got the the part where they ask if you have EVER been arrested/charged with a crime. Well about 8 years ago I did something stupid, but no longer have any information on the case.

It is not possible for me to go to the Harris County courthouse to request a "certified copy of judgment/sentence", and I haven't been able to find anything on Harris County's various websites that would allow me to order this copy.

Does this need to be included with my packet? If so, does anyone know a site where I can order it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Welome to the forum.

You can send your application to DPS without the documentation. When they get to your application, they will ask you for the documentation. By then you should have it.

I suggest starting here and working the phone: http://www.cclerk.hctx.net/ips.HTM

Just go to the county clerk downtown in the new building and get a certified copy made. It is charged per page and only took me 20 minutes from walking in the front door to out again.

I understood the OP to mean that he lives somewhere else now. Laredo and El Paso are quite a drive from Houston.

LOL, It took a total of about 4 hours and a dig through the back shed to get the information that I needed... and it was only 10 years old. You could probably call them, pay with a credit card and have it mailed. Good luck.
