A word of Thanks to ElGato

Dear ElGato,
I wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you and your Daughter Thank You.
If you look in last Sunday's paper (or last weeks paper…) you will see a story about a several people on this island that live in fear of the crime that is going on right in front of there house. The crime here on Galveston is out of control. We have just got a new Police Chief and I hope he will set a good example and start cleaning up this situation ASAP. Weather he does or not, I have never and will never depend on any government to protect my family. Up until now I would have had to say, “in my home but now in a few short months I will be able to extend that protection to anywhere we care to go! The training you and your Daughter provided has extended my ability to do what every man is obligated by God to do; Protect My Family! Perhaps the training will result in saving a life, perhaps not; one result already has been the removal of fear. Fear that a situation beyond my control will spring up at some unexpected moment and I will be found unable to do anything to stop it.
Crime will always be a problem, I am old enough to know that. When I do receive my license, that will be the first time in my adult life that I will be able with confidence take my family out to dinner and KNOW I am able to protect them from most threats. I will not be depending on any government agency to do the job God entrusted to me.
Please don’t take me the wrong way; I have never (and hope I never will) harm another person with a gun or any other weapon. I will still avoid any area that I judge to be “a bad area or “a bad place. I have used common sense all my life to avoid being put in a situation where I would be forced to defend my family against some criminal. As you know from reading the newspaper right here in Galveston county, more and more often, the criminal finds YOU.
ElGato, the information you imparted to me concerning the laws of our State and how they got where they are was worth the cost of the course. Your stories of real examples of men who “went to bat for me, a honest citizen even before I was aware of who they were is a real inspiration to me. It motivates me to follow closely what those fine Men are doing up in Austin and support them in any way I can in the future.
Sir, you and your daughter are putting into practice that old adage; “give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime. I have spent 47 years on this earth only half way doing my duty, I was only prepared to defend my family while at home; now due to you and your daughter “teaching me how to fish I will be able to legally do my duty anywhere we chose to go.
THANK YOU!!!
