Atlanta, Georgia, bucks new state law

The state of Georgia has (or had) laws prohibiting weapons in a patchwork of locations, including public transportation and the non-secure premises of airports. A law that goes into effect today removes many of these restrictions.
The City of Atlanta has refused to comply with the law. The state legislator who sponsored the law, Rep. . Tim Bearden, announced that he will carry at Hartsfield-Jackson airport. The airport manager has threatened to have him arrested.
I think it's a hoot that the usual suspects are predicting rivers of blood as a result of changing Georgia law to what at least half the other states already have.

It's heartwarming to see a state legislator willing to stand up for the law.

FTA:
Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin said citizens can't bring guns into the terminal and argued that airports remain attractive targets for terrorism.
Allowing citizens to carry firearms "would create an environment that would endanger millions of people," she said.
Franklin said she will lobby Congress to withhold federal funds from facilities that allow firearms on their premises.
---------
So she will lobby Congress to withhold Federal funds from places that allow (and why should we be 'allowed') people to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights?
I really don't understand what these people are afraid of.

They are delusional.
They think (1) that people who have access to firearms are not able to control themselves, and will spray lead at the slightest provocation, and (2) that criminals and terrorists will obey signs, or any other law or regulation.
Mrs. Franklin is further delusional if she thinks any anti-RKBA bill will get traction in the current Congress. The trend is in the opposite direction.

She needs to go back to worrying about Atlanta's Budget instead of things she has no clue about!

That's like saying Americans eat too much food and don't get enough exercise, and we need to continue that until we beat the obesity problem.

Well I have to agree with the Atlanta Airport. I mean just the other day, 400 armed people strolled through DFW airport and killed hundreds. They then boarded flights and flew the planes into oil refineries across the nation.
OK, sarcasm off.
This is just another attempt to keep the general law abiding citizens living in fear, while the criminals continue to kill and ignore laws and signs.
