Two weeks ago, someone tried to break in at the office next door. Apparently cut himself pretty bad and got scared off by the alarm.

Then, late last week, my wife was at the mailbox and someone came up and saw the sign for the business that owns the property we're on and started yelling something about some collection agency (name rhymes with the business) hassling him.

She now keeps the Taurus PT111 nearby when she is home alone.

Business owner intents to install a fence along the front, which is now open, within 1-2 weeks.

It's another reminder that it's neither realistic nor useful to think in terms of "safe" places and "not safe" places (although clearly some are safer than others.)
