Ortiz and Torres. Criminal gang?

There are a bunch of discussions about Joe Horn. I wanted to discuss this issue separate from the discussions about the shooting.
austin wrote:NOTHING on any program about how these guys were illegals who were committing 1-2 robberies a night, whose robbery gang had murdered and raped people, and how their killings led to capture of the whole gang.
Do you have any references for this? I'm not saying I don't believe you, because I remember reading about their gang months ago, but I can't find many details online now. (From verifiable sources.)
I see quotes like
this.
Both of the dead men were illegal immigrants from Columbia. Torres had been deported once before after serving a prison term for distributing cocaine.
Police suspect the two men were part of an organized home burglary ring.
And I found this picture.
I can't find anything about fellow gang members or partners in crime being arrested.

Thanks Seamus. That's exactly the sort of verifiable report I'm looking for.

Here's more
http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?secti ... id=5821943 (not as much detail, but might help)
http://www.hcnonline.com/site/news.cfm? ... d=19101932 (Good)
Using this Google search (Web NOT News -- oddly news doesn't have much, that is indexed)
"Hernando * Torres" "Diego Ortiz" "criminal gang" | ~gang texas | columbia

Tried correcting the spelling with essentially the same (negative or limited) results:
"Hernando * Torres" "Diego Ortiz" "criminal gang" | ~gang texas | colombia

Thanks. I think there's plenty of evidence those two were leading a life of crime. After all, one of them was on parole and had been deported for drugs.
I could use help with information about other members of the criminal gang. The article Seamus posted says arrests have been made but there's nothing linking those criminals to Ortiz and Torres, other than being subjects of the same DPS investigation. I'd really like some evidence corroborating the things austin said.

The Wikipedia article
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Horn_s ... ontroversy (which is not too bad on this actually, although I cleaned up a couple of things while reading it -- we'll see if the edits get challenged) references a claim that the two burglars were part of an:
were members of an organized burglary ring in Houston.
..but the link given doesn't mention those words and I cannot find anything that might be the source.
