Hello Everyone. Badlnb here on the Southeast side of Houston by the murky brown Waters of Galveston Bay. I took Tom Estep's CHL class yesterday (July 5th) down in Texas City and he promoted this site and said many positive things so I decided to sign up. It's not that have never been to this site before, I have, I just never signed up.
I enjoyed Toms class and had a nice conversation with his Daughter Tami after I got back from the range.
I am going to finish my CHL Application today and have it ready to go.
I am not one of those people who posts for the sake of having a high post count but If I have something to add, say or report that I think is of significance, I will post. For example I have been a member of AR15.com since 2005 and have about 185 posts.

Welcom, Badinb!

Glad to have you aboard. Tom is correct, this is a great place to hang out and talk guns, packing, and freedom.

It is also a place to hang and not get any work done.

Mrs. Anygun just noticed me typing.

Gotta go!

Welcome aboard & we are glad to have you here.
We would rather have the substance you speak of. I might believe that you have more to offer than you really think you do so enter the conversations for the sake of friendship.
Good instructor, & I am sure you did well.

Welcome to the site. It's a very good one in my opinion. There's lots of great info and if a question comes up there are some very knowledgeable people ready to supply solid answers.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

I am glad to have that 10 hours of the CHL class behind me. As far as how I did in the class, all I can say is I did better than I thought I would. I am glad I took the class from Tom and Tami. I think Tom brings a lot of practical reality to what it means to be a CHL holder. I learned a lot from him (and Tami).
Judging by the posts in this forum, it appears that the class is the easy part, and that the waiting for the application process, background check and the issuing of the license is the hardest part.
My questions for those CHL holders who have had it for several years is this: Has anyone ever gone back and examined how the wait times to get the CHL license (and or renewal) has changed over the years? it is my guess that it used to not take nearly as long as it does now.
