Tx State Guard on "stand by" warning with Dolly

Hurricane Season has officially begun, and my unit has been put on "standby" in case Tropical Storm Dolly turns into Hurricane Dolly before it reaches the Gulf Coast. 63 people from several State Guard units closer to the gulf have already been activated, just in case. The governor has said he will order evacuations if Dolly grows to a Cat 3 storm, and if there are evacuations, my unit will almost certainly be called in as well to assist. We should know for sure no later than Wednesday.

Your prayers are coveted greatly, for safety for everyone on or near the Gulf coast.

I offer my prayers for all those affected.

I didn't know you were in the State Guard.

I am also in the State Guard and have orders to leave tomorrow morning. What unit are you in?

Thanks for prayers. We (about 100 of us) arrived at the convention center in McAllen yesterday and are now being dispersed to shelters as they open between McAllen and Brownsville. Just a couple more hours and it should be really interesting around here. At least we have Wi-Fi while we wait....
