Been lurking around the forum a while waiting for my plastic. Finally it has arrived. Wish it had come a couple days earlier, BEFORE I HAD TO GO TO HOUSTON. Man, that is a different place than this small Northeast Texas town I live in. Thanks for this great forum, I am sure I will have some questions as the days go by.

March 15, 2008 Took CHL Class
March 17, 2008 Mailed Packet to DPS
March 19, 2008 Packet Recieved by DPS
March 26, 2008 Check to DPS cleared
April 9, 2008 Issued PIN
July 15, 2008 Emailed DPS and was told they were waiting investigation of Background Information
July 23, 2008 Application Complete - License Issued or Certifiaction Active (from DPS Web Site)
July 26, 2008 Plastic in Hand - Around 130 days

Congratulations! and welcome to the forum. You have defiantly come to the right place. There are a lot of good people here and they are willing to help you. I know what you mean about them big 'ole towns... I have to go the Dallas several times a year and that is definatly different from out here in West Texas!
