Number of Registered Users Going Down?

In case some of you have noticed, the number of registered users seems to periodically decrease slightly. Just so you don't think I've had to ban anyone, I wanted to let you know what's going on.

About once a month, I check my list of welcoming PM's that have not been read by new "members." I then look to see if those people have completed the registration process by responding to the validation email. Any registration that has not been validated for at least a month is deleted. I also delete any registration that has a web link or signature to an adult web site (we've had a few) or an Internet casino. An article in PC World discussed the widespread use of registrations on various boards simply to "push" people to casinos and other web sites.

There are still a few people who have validated their registration, and some who are posting, who have not picked up their welcome PM. Please check to see if you have any PM’s in your in box. I really need to get those cleared out.

Thanks,
Chas.
