PACT MKIV XP

My new timer / chrony arrived a few days ago. The problem is the instruction manual is not nearly complete. The cover of the manual states that a complete manual will be available by mid January 2006  ?

The website makes no reference to an available user's manual.

Has anyone else figured this thing out? I may have to send it back to Midway and just opt for a more basic unit.

Is this what you already have in hand?

I just spoke with PACT on the phone and this is exactly how the converstaion went...

PACT: "PACT Can I help you?"

Me: "Hello, how are you today? I ordered one of your MKIV XP shot timer / chrony combos and it arrived with a partial instruction manual stating that the full version would be available in january 2006. Can you tell me how I can get one?"

PACT: "It's not available yet. Soon, but not yet. Every time I ask him about it he says "not yet""

Me: "So, there is no way to find out how all of the features and functions work?"

PACT: "Well, bascially you should just start pushing buttons. You won't hurt it by pushing buttons." "rlol"

Me: "Oh, OK thanks for your help."

Needless to say I was left pretty speechless by his last comment. This device is suppossed to have a ton of features and functions. Being new to shot timers and chrony's I don't think that punching buttons is really going to help me figure it out.

I am disappointed to say the least. I haven't decided for certain but I will more than likely return it and opt for a different shot timer and purchase a seperate chrony.

Wow... That's not what I'd call good customer service. I recommend you post this over on the Brian Enos forum. I'm sure you can get the answers you need from there.

Thanks for the tip. It's a shame too because they are local company based in Grand Prairie. It is frustrating, but I am going to try and be patient.

We've just used the manual that the previous poster indicated. Now, we don't know if all of the capability of the timer is being used but it does work well.
