You don't have to be an AOL member to see this. McCain has 61% of the vote according to this poll with 236,486 votes. Interesting.

Re: AOL election poll
Good. We need a November vote at that percentage to send a message to the Libs. Doubt it will ever be that good again though.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

The AOL poll is an internet poll, not a legitimate scientific poll.longtooth wrote:Good. We need a November vote at that percentage to send a message to the Libs. Doubt it will ever be that good again though.

I agree, but it makes me feel a little better anyway.

Re: AOL election poll
Even though i know it is not scientific, I am a bit amazed at the AOL poll results. I did not realize that so much of their users were that conservative. Besides the vote, look at the comments. I do not have much faith in the main polls because I do not believe they actually poll enough to produce a scientifically valid response, but I did not think the difference bewteen the polls and the reality of the people was that great.
I was predicting a split in the range of 51-49 to 43-47 percent. Until last week, I thought McCain stood a good chance of winning. For the past few days, I thought McCain would be blamed too much for the economy because people blame Bush for it. Now, I am thinking again that McCain stands a good chance of winning but it will still be close. I say this because of the failure of Congress to agree on the bailout. I think McCain and the people will blame the Dems for failure more than they will blame Bush and the Reps for the collapse to begin with. And I think more people saw McCain doing the right thing by going back to Washington and being forced back on the campaign trail by Obama refusing to go back.
It will be close, but I think the downfall of the Obama campaign will be the voter turnout. Young voters generally do not show up to vote.
