Just want some clarification. The PBR is in San Antonio tonight at Cowboys dancehall. I am wondering If I can carry there. Its an all ages event. We called and asked if our 4 and 6 yr old can go. They said yes as long as we dont take them into the bar area. Does anyone know if it is posted 30.06? and is PBR considered a 'professional sport'? Thanks in advance for the help!

IANAL but, PBR's website call themselves a sport. It is covered on ESPN. I think you might have a hard time convincing a jury it's not a professional sport. Better safe than sorry.

PBR stands for Professional Bull Riders. They ride for prize money and standings for a chance to go to National competitions. It is a professional sporting event with some amateur riders added into the mix. IMHO, carry would be illegal because it is a professional sporting event. I am not, however, a lawyer.

It is considered to be a professional sporting event. IANAL, but I would say it's not legal to carry there.

Just like it's not legal to carry to any minor league games, arena football, the Byron Nelson, etc. Those are all still professional sporting events.

It would take a lot of PBR for me to do PBR.

I just don't get the idea of jumping on top of a hopping mad 1/2 ton creature. But hey each to their own. Some probably don't get the idea of paying $100+ for a hamburger (as a lot of pilots do), but I like it.

It's funny, but as a transplant to Texas, I've always wanted to try it. It looks dangerous and painful, but if I can be padded, I'd love to go for 8 seconds! (And I am about as far from 'country' as one can get)

I have to admit that I thought the same thing. Must be showing my age, red neck and white socks.

I thought the same thing: "PBR tonight?"... no thanks, I'm having an Old Milwaukee!

For those who didn't know, PBR (of the red necks and white socks variety) is back. It's pretty good, especially compared to Keystone or others in the same price range.

(And no, I don't normally drink Old Milwaukee! I just felt like changing to an old-school beer for the weekend.)

Padding isn't going to make a difference when 1000 pounds of angry bull stomps on ya.

Not sure what you're referring to, but PBR = Pabst Blue Ribbon beer = Professional Bull Riding

Or is it the $100 hamburger. It's what general aviation pilots do when they take a trip for no reason other than flying. You land at another airport some distance away and get a bite to eat. It might cost you about $100 or more in fuel. Tyler had a great burger at their field called the Pounder (Tyler airport is called Pounds Field or used to be - I haven't flown there in a few years).

I've even had a few Papst and prefer it over a Bud or Miller any day, but I was curious about the burger, I don't eat many burgers any more, but I do respect a great one.

PBR- The beer, was actually my preffered beer of choice when I started drinking back in the 70's transitioned thru most of the domestics, now it is A&W root Beer!
