After much procrastination, I finally visited the DPS website and paid for the packet. Received it two weeks ago and took the class last week. Mailed the packet today. Looking forward to keeping my Sig 229 with Galco pancake holster close by.

It is nice to see another Sig fan! Have a seat and learn to wait....patiently.

I was a lifelong (yes, I am somewhat young) Glock fan until I was at the Winchester range in FW and the SIG rep was offering free tests on the SIG pistols. After one clip, I was converted. The Glock is still a great gun, but the SIG is just....well like hamburger v/s prime rib.

Packet was recieved by DPS on 11/4. Online status still shows "Packet mailed". Is this normal?

Yup, my packet was received the same day, same status.

Check your status again... mine changed today.

Progress.....status is now processing application!

I read a post on this forum where a grown adult discussed how he went from a patient, mature provider to a child waiting on Christmas after sending in the packet. It is amazing that I feel the same way. I am hoping the record for the shortest wait is passed to me.

The lucky recipient of the 48 day plastic has me checking my status daily. All I want for Christmas is my CHL, my CHL....

That would be such an awesome gift, to receive our plastic before Christmas. I couldn't ask for more...well...maybe winning the lottery so I can buy more guns...

Amen brother. Well first I'd buy a new house to have a place to PUT them all....

Oh yeah. Got a house already but I'd buy some land so I can have my OWN shooting range in my back yard.
