My congratulations as well. It will definitely be an experience for him no matter how long he stays. I know I enjoyed my 20 years in the Air Force. Does he know what he will be doing yet? I may see him if he goes through the Master at Arms school after Basic Training. This is where I work now.

Congrats, I hope that his experience surpasses his expectations. May G-d watch over your son and keep him safe during his service to our great country.

His contract has him listed as an ET "Electronics Technician". His recruiter said that as soon as his background check comes back his contract will be changed to NF "Nuclear Field".

My son starts nuke prototype school today. This will be his last school which lasts 6 months. Hopefully a slot will be open on a ballistic missile sub as that's what he volunteered for when he joined back in 09. If not he'll be on a carrier until a slot opens up. BZ to my son.
