From the Galveston County Daily News, this date:
TEXAS CITY — A woman’s screams sent a would-be carjacker running, but police said he stopped long enough to shoot twice at the victim, who was unharmed.

Police said the 65-year-old woman got out of her car at 3501 Loop 197 N. at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday.

A thin black man in his 20s, from 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9, and wearing a hooded sweatshirt brandished a silver revolver and demanded her car.

Texas City police Cpl. David Viel said no arrest was made.
This sounds like an inexperienced, jumpy criminal who has no qualms about committing aggravated robbery and attempted murder.

I would be surprised if this guy did not make another attempt.

BTW, this is not a bad neighborhood.

Thank you for posting this....I missed it in the paper. I agree that this is a dangerous fellow and it wont be long before he does it again.
