Are you willing to trade it for a G26?

The XD SC 40 is around $500 to purchase new and still sell in that price range according to Google:

springfield xd pistol , xd 9812hcsp06, matte ... $492.99 - Midwest Hunters Outlet
springfield xd pistol , xd 9822hcsp06, duo ... $547.99 - Midwest Hunters Outlet
Springfield - XD Sub-Compact, .40SW $478.00 - SniperCountryPX.com

A used SC 40 is probably somewhere between $400 and $425

You could just get a 9mm barrel and mags for that and convert it giving you the ability to shoot both.

It is a great idea, however, a barrel would have to be available in SC size, also the slide may need to be changed out as I am unsure the bushing size on the 40 and 9mm barrels are the same.

I saw a 9mm conversion barrel somewhere that is a drop in switch, but I cant remember where. Also that requires spending probably a good $200 on mags and a barrel, and at that point your already 1/2 way to buying a new gun.

Just out of curiosity, why would you sell your SA XD SC .40 for a SA XD SC 9mm?

I'm new to guns and just wondering - is it becuase of cheaper ammo? Or because of the recoil?

I'm pretty sure those conversion barrels are for the Service model (4").

I have several other 9mm and only one other 40 cal, so caliber consistency is a consideration. Also I am looking for something a bit smaller.
