Poaching proliferates in the U.K.

Poachers in the U.K. are taking literally everything that moves and selling it for profit.
Only a few types of rifles and shotguns are allowed to civilians in the U.K. That matters not a whit to criminals, who can obtain whatever they want and use it with impunity.

Here's the problem with the U.K.:
In the early 20th century, the U.K. had the lowest crime rate that has every been seen. The number of murders was fewer than 10 a year, and most of those were committed by jealous lovers and the like. People felt no need for weapons to defend themselves from criminals.
Meanwhile, the government ratcheted down registration, permitting, and the classes of weapons that civilians could own. That meant that there were fewer recreational shooters every year, especially of handguns.
When it finally came time to "turn 'em all in," as they say, there were few shooters to protest.
Now the U.K. is importing crime in the form of open immigration from the E.U. and its former colonies, and they don't know what to do about it.
Furthermore, their government does not protect the rights of political minorities. They no longer have an effective bicameral legislature, and they have never had the equivalent of our Supreme Court. A solid majority in Parliament can do practically anything.
