Yes, it's time for CHANGE.
That said, do you really think the DEMs are going to fail their union based support

"Do I think it's been a good thing? Yeah, absolutely," Brian Fredline, President of UAW Local 602, told FOXNews.com. "Now I'm not sure if Wall Street would agree. But I think it's saved the income security of a lot of workers."
"I got mine...what's your problem?"
Unfortunately, there is no sense of responsibility for the downfall of these companies. It's not ALL the Union's fault, but they sure do not help the situation in any way and they will not make an effort out of fear somebody may get $0.01 of what they think is "theirs". The management, unions and politicians all need to accept reality and let the companies go bankrupt. Anything else only prolongs the inevitable.

WE can see why they are in the situation they are in. I think the union has outlasted it's usefulness. My uncle worked for Chrysler, he started making breakfast and taking it to work to sell. Pretty soon he was making a lot of money selling to the workers. His foreman found out and had him make lunch also, he no longer had to do any work as far as building cars, just make and sell food. He gave the foreman a cut and they both made money.

This just proves the ineptitude of the upper management. They AGREED to this. I think they should take it out of the management's bonuses and yearly compensation.

It makes more sense to deny the bailouts and let the market take care of it. Companies that make good decisions will survive and companies that make bad decisions will go under. Same is true for banks and wall street.
I wish it was true for governments.

The only U.S, car entity that should be bailed out in the interest of national security and identity is Jeep. As a taxpayer, I'd put my money on Jeep, but no others. Let 'em twist in the wind at the end of a frayed rope with a noose of their own making.

Why do Chrysler stores sell Jeeps?

I heard the big cheeses at GM are now offering to work for a buck a year salary for the near future to pitch in on prosperity. The poor blockheads would have to learn how to live on nothing more than their 19 million dollar bonuses, what a sacrifice indeed

Yah right..a buck a year salary..but what you don't see is the multi million dollars of stock they get handed to them.
I know SBC CEO walked off with like 136Million, about that much if not more in stock option, gets paid 6 million a year for "consulting" fees, gets all his vehicles taken care of for LIFE, all the while they were laying of THOUSANDS of employees, downsizing here, cutting there, moving work centers, taking on bad work practices from other companies we bought out...
Don't tell me they accepted to work for a loss at all! These guys aren't stupid, plus they can live lavishly for the rest of their lives and children's lives with the money they managed to bilk from their customers and employees!
"The American Dream" is all fine and dandy...until those at the top decide their greed is more important that everyone else's "American Dream" at the bottom!
